Sanguisorba obtusa’ is a wonderful upright clump-forming perennial that produces exquisite vivid pink bottlebrush flowers that blossom from red buds during June and last through to July. The pretty pink flowers grow up to 7cm in length and contrast beautifully against the grey-green foliage below. Originating from Japan, this hardy perennial plant is easy to grow, making it an ideal choice for beginner gardeners and experts alike. Reaching a mature height of 65cm, they will generate an exquisite appearance when planted at the front of borders, along pathways or in pots and containers.
Sanguisorba  is known for attracting bees, beneficial insects, butterflies/moths and other pollinators. It has nectar/pollen rich flowers.
Cut back after flowering or leave seed heads for winter interest.
