Monarda are annual or herbaceous perennial plants with fragrant ovate leaves, often used for potpourri, and striking tubular flowers much like an Indian headdress, flowering throughout summer into early autumn. These are best suited to flower beds and borders within cottage, informal and wildlife garden settings. You should expect to see Monarda grow to an approximate height of 90cm (36”) and a spread of 45cm (18”).

Description

The striking Monarda, also known as Bee Balm, comes in a great mixture of colours with spiky blooms at a height of 60cm. Flowering from June to September, they are a great choice for planting in the garden border or patio containers where they will attract bees. These hardy perennials have spicy scented foliage and make excellent cut flower arrangements but are also very versatile when planted outdoors.

They will thrive in all areas of the garden from direct sun to shaded areas where other plants may struggle. Regular dead heading will encourage longer flowering
